What is Forever Costa Rica?
Forever Costa Rica is the non-profit association that manages the public-private conservation initiative developed by the Costa Rican government and its associates – The Nature Conservancy, the Linden Trust for Conservation, the Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation, and the Walton Family Foundation – whose aim is to consolidate a marine and terrestrial protected areas system that is ecologically-representative, effectively managed, and supported by a stable funding source, which will allow Costa Rica to become the first developing country to achieve the goals set forth by the Programme of Work on Protected Areas (POWPA) under the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
